Paddy’s review: January 2020
There was midweek games in the league this week to make up for the fa cup games
Starting with the league leaders Liverpool they didn’t play well against Wolves but they showed great character and ground out another important win which gets them closer to their quest in winning the league but for Wolves I wouldn’t get annoyed by getting beaten by them because they are not going to be judged by getting results against these teams if they did get a result against these it would be bonus
The timely return of LaPorte for Man city could be crucial for their push for European glory they were in a close game against Sheffield United but the blades ran out of steam against city but come it the man come it the hour as Sergio Aguero stepped up again as he berried a lovely pass from a tight angle I know I have said it before but when he hangs up his boots he has go down as a legend in city’s books and the premier league books
Sean Dyche is underrated what a performance that his team put in against Man United at Old Trafford to win there he had done a steady job with them for many years now and they have some deadly strikers which can bang in important goals which will be so crucial in the context of the league but for United their performance against Burnley was awful they played like a team that was in the relegation zone it’s going to take a lot of work to get back to where they once where and I don’t think the Solksjaer will be the man for that task
Arteta has brought steel with him at his debut job with Arsenal and it’s great to see him giving kids a chance and they got a great comeback draw against Chelsea by showing great resilience but for Chelsea Lampard has work to do because their home form is not great for a top team
