Premier League preview

My predictions for Sunday’s Premier League games and a look ahead to Monday Night Football between Leicester & Everton. Manchester City have an opportunity to go to the top of the Premier League if they win against Fulham as Arsenal are not in action this weekend. With games running out for all teams it’s getting to a stage were you might need to take a scalp against a big team especially if you are involved in the relegation battle. Scheduling of this weekend’s Premier League games is questionable with having four games on at 2pm and then the last game on at 4:30pm, it would be better if they moved one of the games at 2pm to 7pm.

Fulham host treble chasing Manchester City at Craven Cottage. A mixed week regarding results for Fulham as they won against Leeds at home then lost to Aston Villa. Man City were very impressive in the midweek round of games as they scored four against Arsenal. Big players step up in the biggest games and this was noticeable against Arsenal as Kevin De Bruyne scored twice. Fulham will make it difficult for Man City but I think the away side will have too much. Score prediction 1-3

AFC Bournemouth take on Leeds United at the Vitality Stadium. Leeds gave themselves hope in the relegation battle as they drew against Leicester City on Tuesday. Bournemouth reached 36 points after their midweek win against Southampton. Leeds will need to get a least one win in their final five games as draws will not be enough. Bournemouth will be all but safe if they win today as they will be on 39 points. Score prediction 1-2

Manchester United host Aston Villa at Old Trafford. Man United 1958 supporters club are planning a protest regarding the ownership of the club and hopefully it doesn’t ruin or postpone this game. Man United were comfortable at two nil against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday but a terrible display in the second half as they let a two goal lead slip. This performance in the second half against Spurs showed that Man United’s squad is not good enough to be challenging for titles. Aston Villa have been in fantastic form lately under Unai Emery as they have picked up 42 points in their last 20 games. Villa are currently on 54 points and could close the gap on Man United to three points if the visitors manage a win at Old Trafford. Score prediction 1-1

Newcastle host bottom of the table Southampton at St James Park. Newcastle have been outstanding as they scored 10 goals in their last two Premier League games against Spurs and Everton. If Newcastle win and results go their way they could be 11 points ahead of fifth place at the end of today’s games. Southampton are all but doomed but they managed three goals in their last away game at the Emirates against Arsenal. I think this is a great opportunity for Newcastle to continue their good goal scoring form. Score prediction 3-1

Liverpool take on Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield. Spurs got a bit of well needed confidence as they came from two nil down to manage a draw against Man United on Thursday. Liverpool have been fantastic at home this season as they have only lost one Premier League game. Liverpool are starting to find their goal scoring boots as they scored 12 goals in their last three games. Liverpool will be favourites with the bookies for this game but you can never write off Spurs especially with having Harry Kane. Spurs will probably treat this game as a free shot which could be a problem for the home side. Score prediction 3-2

The action finishes off with Leicester taking on Everton on Monday. Both teams are involved in a relegation battle and this will be a nervy game. Dean Smith is starting to get the best out of Leicester as he achieved four points in the last two games. Leicester will always have a chance when you can rely on the quality of James Maddison as he was the best player on the pitch against Leeds. Sean Dyche was extremely frustrated that Everton conceded four goals in their last game against Newcastle. The game between Leicester and Everton won’t be a classic and one goal will decide this game. Score prediction 0-0

Hope you enjoy the Premier League games both today and tomorrow.
