Midweek is crucial
With the 2021/2022 Premier League season coming to an end there is some crunch Premier League games this week concerning both the top and bottom of the Premier League.
Leeds vs Chelsea at Elland Road is a big game for both teams with Leeds needing a result to avoid relegation and Chelsea still needing points to guarantee third place. Elland Road will be electric on Wednesday evening for this match with Leeds needing to repeat their defensive performance by managing to stay in the game which they did against Arsenal and Chelsea will have to be a similar effort if Leeds are able to get a positive result from this game. Chelsea will need a performance especially with playing Liverpool in the Fa Cup next weekend and with Arsenal breathing down their necks for third place. Score prediction Leeds 1-1 Chelsea
Everton travel to Vicarage Road to take on already relegated Watford. Everton are full of confidence after winning their last two games against Chelsea and Leicester. Watford are under no pressure so not sure how Watford are going to perform. If Everton win this match I think they will be nearly safe. Score prediction Watford0-2 Everton
Wolves take on title chasing Manchester City at Molineux on Wednesday evening. Wolves got a fantastic draw against Chelsea by staying in the game and been hard to break down. Wolves will look to play a similar game plan against Man City with Man City having lots of possession and Wolves planning to catch Man City on the counter attack. Man City need three points to keep their lead in the title race. If Ruben Diaz is not available for selection this will be a problem as Diaz would be a big loss. Pep Guardiola will have to go with either a natural defender in Nathan Ake or the experienced Fernandinho who is not a defender but has played in that position many of time. The final game on Wednesday is Leicester City against already relegated Norwich City. With Norwich planning for next season I don’t expect much from Norwich in this game. Leicester have been unpredictable this season but you would fancy them to score a few goals and beat Norwich comfortably. Score prediction Leicester 3-0 Norwich
The final midweek game is the North London derby between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal on Thursday evening. Arsenal are going into this game in good form as they have won the last two games in arow against Leeds United and West Ham United. With Arsenal trying to finish third they will be out to win this game. Spurs also need a result if they want to finish in the top four this season. Their performance against Liverpool was a good and Spurs will go with a similar game plan against Arsenal with letting Arsenal have all of the possession and hitting Arsenal on the counter attack with Harry Kane and Son.
