Paddy’s picks: February 2020

A preview to this weekend’s sporting events

Starting with the Premier league only 2 games on this Saturday in the Premier league. The first match is between Southampton and Burnley with the Saints been at home. Southampton have been in good form lately especially with Danny Ings banging in the goals for Southampton and with Southampton having home advantage in this game. I think that Southampton will win this game by 2 clear goals because Burnley don’t have a good away record. Results: Burnley won the game by 2 goals to 1 and the match was played at 12:30 on Saturday 15th February

The second game of the day sees top versus bottom as Liverpool take on Norwich. With the pool on a great run and miles ahead of the rest this season. The champions elect have been brillant at times this season with having their electric front 3. I think the pool will continue their unbeaten season this weekend as they will beat Norwich by 3 clear goals because the canaries are routed to the bottom of this year’s Premier league. Results: Liverpool won the match by 2 goals to 1 and this match was played at 5:30 on Saturday 15th February

On Sunday there is 2 more games on in this year’s Premier league. The first match up sees Tottenham take on Aston Villa. With Villa been at home and shown good signs of form lately I think Villa will give Spurs a good game. I think the quality that Spurs have in their attacking positions will win the game for Spurs. Results: Tottenham won this game by 3 goals to 2 and the match was played on Sunday 16th February at 2pm

The second game on this day was a clash between Arsenal and Newcastle. With Arsenal starting to play a bit better lately due to their new manager who is Arteta. Newcastle will make it hard for Arsenal by been hard to break down but I think Arsenal will have enough to win this game. Results: Arsenal won this game by 4 goals to nil and the match was played on Sunday 16th February at 16:30

There will be Monday Night Football this week as the highly anticipated clash between Chelsea and Manchester United with Chelsea having home advantage. Chelsea’s home record has been up and down this season due to Lampard trying to get his own stamp on his club that he manages also with a young squad at his disposal that’s another reason why Chelsea are struggling at home this season. Man United will fancy their chances against Chelsea because their counter attacking game will suit them been away from home. I think the speed of United’s forward players will win the game for United but it will be a close encounter. Results: Man United won the game by 2 goals to nil and this game was played on Monday 17th February at 8pm

In the Championship West Brom welcome Nottingham Forest to the Hawthorns. Forest are on a good form especially been good away from home so they will fancy their chances against the baggies. In the last few matches West Brom have found it harder to score goals I think the pressure of going up is getting to them. With the baggies been at home I think they will return to winning ways with a 1 nil win. Results: the match ended in a draw and this match was played at 3pm on Saturday 15th February

Leeds are in a lull at the moment with finding it tricky to break teams down. The results having been great for Leeds lately but they’re still playing great football with creating lots of chances. Leeds have a good home record and I think they will win this match but it will be a close encounter because Bristol are a good team. Results: Leeds won by 1 goal to nil and this match was played at 3pm on Saturday 15th February

In golf this week the PGA tour travels to California for the Genesis Open. There is a great field assembled for this event which will include Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. Rory has been playing well lately and if he continues his good form this week I think that he will win this event. Results: Adam Scott won this event by 2 shots and it was played from Thursday 13th till Sunday 16th February
