Paddy’s review: 2020
A review of the weekend’s sporting events. Starting with the Premier league Sheffield United should great character to get a late winner against Bournemouth. The blades are having a great season and they could finish the season in a Europe place. If they were finish in the top six this season it would be a remarkable season for them and their manager Chris Wilder should get manager of the season.
Watford are tougher to break down now under Nigel Pearson. I think they will stay up this season because they are too good to go down this season. For Brighton I think they are in trouble because they don’t score many goals so this could cost them in staying up this season.
Everton got a well needed win at home against Crystal Palace. Everton should be much higher in the league than they are because they have a good manager plus they have some great players in their squad. For Crystal Palace they shouldn’t get too disheartened in this defeat because Hodgson has them playing great football.
In the Championship West Brom cement their place on top spot and it looks like the baggies are going to win the league and go up this season. With Leeds starting to slip second place is opening up and I think Brentford will finish in second place now because they are getting some great results plus their goal difference is good which might come down to that
In Italy I was shocked that Juventus were beating against Verona. I wouldn’t read too much into that result I think they will bounce back to winning ways in their next game
I think Inter are on the way back as they got a big win against their old rivals in Milan. Inter have some good players in their squad and I think they could be challenging for major honours in a few seasons.
In Spain Barcelona got a close win at the weekend but they are conceding too many goals. They will need to do some work on this part of their game in the training ground because it could cost them in a big game as the season goes on.
Athletico are going back to basics with been strong at the back this tactic got them great results in the past. This tactic could benefit them later on in the season as they will come up against some of the best attacking players in Europe.
In golf next I thought Mickelson would win in Pebble Beach again but he made some costly errors on final stretch. I thought with all his experience I didn’t think he would do that just goes to show a bit of pressure does mad things in sport. Jordan Spieth had the best final round with a 67 and it would be good if he came back because he had tinkered too much with his swing
Where as on the European tour I thought that Fox would win but I was surprised that Lee won the event he showed no signs of pressure in the final round in playing with Fox. This win will do wonders for his confidence and he go and play where ever he wants with been assempted now
