Using self service tills in a Supermarket

One of my pet hates as been visually impaired is using self service. A lot of this machine is visual which is not good for someone that’s visually impaired. It’s tricky to find the barcodes on certain products because there not always easy to find

A solution for this machine is like the ATMs bring earphones with you there should be a slot for the earphones to go into beside the machine so you can follow the steps which would be great or different bigger screens that people with a visual impairment could use it would be handy but probably won’t happen because it will cost them money

Staff are nice in supermarkets so if you do the wrong step or press something by accident they will help you which is good

It would be great in supermarkets if you could get assistance to help you using the self service machine so it would stop you guessing and trying how to work it

There are hard to use because lot of it is visual which is no good for someone with a visual impairment so I don’t use this machine in supermarkets but if they brought them ideas in that I suggested above I would use it a lot more but till then I will be sticking with the normal way to pay

It’s hard to find the slots for putting your money in the self service and it takes a lot of time for someone with a visual impairment using this so the easiest way is just queuing up and giving the money to person on the till for the present time
