It was great to see Tiger Woods in his traditional red shirt and black trousers for the final round
Tiger Woods played with Sam Burns for the final round at Albony. Woods had trouble with his Short game especially with a double bogey at the par three second hole. 15 time major winner bounced back immediately as he found the green in two at the par five third. Woods managed to achieve a birdie at the par five third hole.
The fourth at Albony is a long par four and Woods had 200 yards for his second shot. His six iron came up short but an improvement with the short game as Woods achieved a par. Woods hit a seven iron at the par three fifth which successfully found the green. Woods returned to level par after an extraordinary putt for birdie.
Woods had 248 yards for his second shot from the waste area at the par five sixth. Woods reached under par for the round after a fantastic up and down for birdie. The seventh hole played longer on the final day and needed a 328 yard drive to carry the bunker short of the green. Woods tee shot was level with the bunker but failed to achieve a birdie.
The negative momentum of missing a birdie putt at the seventh carried onto the next hole for Woods as he was unsuccessful in a chieving a par at the extremely long par three Eight hole. Woods was all over the place at the par five ninth but managed to hole a putt for par to avoid two bogeys in a row. Woods found himself in good shape after two shots at the par five 11th hole. Woods poor short game was on display again as he Duffed his chip shot. Woods ended up with a bogey at the par five 11th.
Woods tee shot at the drivable par four 14th ended up on the fringe of the green. His eagle putt narrowly missed and settled for a birdie. Over the first three rounds Woods played the par five 15th in three over. Woods managed to finally achieve a birdie at the 15th after a excellent two putt.
Woods found the 16th difficult as he played it in three over for four rounds. Woods finished with two pars at the 17th and 18th hole. Woods shot a final round of level par and finished in 18th position. Woods made five birdies but too many mistakes with three bogeys and one double bogey.
Overall it was good for Woods to achieve four competitive rounds. Woods said that he will play one tournament a month next year which is fantastic. Woods was hitting great drives but just needs to tidy up his iron game and chipping. Woods will play again before Christmas with his son Charley at the PNC Championship.
